What a beautiful pennywort looks like depends on everyone's taste. Some people like a lush, full mass of leaves, while others prefer sturdy, large leaves that are relatively sparse! Yatou will introduce a few methods so you can easily grow pennywort into the look you want!

When pennywort grows tall, it needs cutting, it needs cutting

The pennywort is growing very well, shooting up a bit tall! Although the leaves look lush, from the side it is not very pretty, and the shorter leaves easily turn yellow and die off! Push apart the leaves in the middle, and there are many tiny, shorter leaves that are growing rather weakly and rot easily. Rather than letting this happen, it is better to cut them off quickly!

A buzz cut

Previously Yatou introduced the buzz-cut method for spider plants and money trees, and actually pennywort is exactly the same!

Find a pair of sharp scissors and scald them with boiled water!

Grab the pennywort with your hand and cut once at a position 2 cm above the water surface. When you cut it off, you will find there are many dried-up leaves in the middle. Look at how the root system in this part is growing. If there are also rotten, yellowed ones, it is best to pull them out roots and all!

After the final cut, only a clump of rotten roots is left. Check the root system and you will find many roots have already rotted. Fortunately, it was pruned in time! Directly clean up all the rotten ones.

After cutting, do not put it directly in the sun. For now, put it in a shady place and change the pot for a few days. Wait until small leaves grow, then care for it normally! The newly grown small leaves are all neatly uniform in height!

Growing into large leaves is just around the corner!
