Growing succulents costs money, but a trip to the flower market can save you quite a bit

I'm truly "addicted" to succulents. Once you fall down the rabbit hole, you just can't stop. I buy batch after batch, and I wish I could take home every beautiful succulent. Don't be fooled by how many succulents only cost a few yuan each, once you start buying you just can't stop, and many of the big ones are quite expensive. And when the summer heat and autumn heat hit, one careless moment and the succulent is dead, and the heartache is as bad as it gets.
So I went to the flower and bird market to look around and see if I could haggle the price down a bit, and then in the trash pile I saw a bunch of succulents the owner had thrown away. Succulents are living things too. Don't underestimate me, the trash picker. Any succulent that's still alive can be kept alive, even a single leaf can be propagated into a new plant, let alone succulents that still have roots and stems!
So I took them home, potted them one by one, acclimated them, watered them, fertilized them, and unexpectedly, there was a surprise harvest. Come and take a look!
Before potting, disinfect first
Many of the succulents the owners throw away have diseases, or are nearly on the verge of death. After trimming and pruning, the better leaves and stems are kept, but bacterial infection is unavoidable, so it's still best to properly sterilize and disinfect the succulents before potting. The easiest way is to use carbendazim diluted with water at about 1000 times, which can raise the survival rate of the succulents.
Choose the right soil, save yourself a lot of trouble
Actually, succulents can be considered a lazy person's plant. Watering once every few weeks is fine, but you must let them live in an environment that is fairly cool, has plenty of light, and has loose, breathable soil. To grow succulents, first grow the roots. If the soil is well chosen, things become very easy. If the soil isn't good, you can also buy special nutrient soil for succulents.
A good pot beats fertilizer
After choosing good soil for the succulents, you need to give them a beautiful and comfortable house. Generally, choose a pot with several drainage holes at the bottom, as this is more breathable and drains better, and the survival rate is also higher. How much you water is also clear at a glance.
Choose the right fertilizer, plump and chubby
Once all the above work is done, you can properly supplement nutrients for the succulents. For example, you can use organic fertilizer specially made for succulents as a nutrient supplement to promote rooting, sprouting, strong plants, plump and chubby growth, and improved resistance. Prune after flowering, so that next time they bloom with even more beautiful flowers.
Post-bloom pruning is already an indispensable step in rose pruning. I believe everyone knows why post-bloom pruning is done: its main purpose is to reduce nutrient consumption, so that the next bloom has enough nutrients to produce larger and more beautiful flowers.
