When growing flowers, you should frequently wipe the leaves; shiny leaves can reflect light.
In fact, flowers and plants, just like people, also need to "take a bath." We need to regularly wipe their leaves with a solution so that even after being cared for over a long period, they can still remain glossy and thick. Today, Huahua will use pothos as an example to tell everyone which solutions work better for wiping leaves.
1. Plant ash solution
Everyone who grows flowers is surely familiar with plant ash. Putting a little of it in a flower pot can not only improve the soil's air permeability, but the nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other elements it contains will also make the plant grow more vigorously.
The process of making plant ash solution is very simple. First, we need to choose relatively fine plant ash and then add water and stir it into a solution. The usual mixing ratio is 1:10. Next, the prepared solution needs to sit for a period of time. After seeing the plant ash slowly settle to the bottom, we then need to filter out the clean plant ash solution, and it is done. Finally, we can dip a rag in a little plant ash solution once a month to wipe the leaves of the pothos.
2. White vinegar
White vinegar is a great cleaning helper in our homes. Besides being used to remove stains and grease, using it to wipe leaves also works quite well. This is because white vinegar contains a large amount of amino acids, vitamins and other substances, and these substances happen to help plants grow. Therefore, if the leaves of plants at home have problems, white vinegar can be used to improve them.
White vinegar cannot be directly wiped onto the leaves; it needs to be diluted with water, and the usual ratio is kept at 1:100. After dilution, the white vinegar solution will not have such a pungent smell, and it is also easier for flowers and plants to absorb. After wiping, we had better clean them again with clean water; this way the effect will be even better.
3. Beer
Many flower enthusiasts have mentioned before that beer works very well when used to water flowers. Unexpectedly, taking a different approach and using it to wipe leaves also works quite well. Everyone knows that beer is made from hops, and hops contain abundant amino acids, and these amino acids happen to supplement the nutrients needed by plants and flowers. This is also the reason why beer works so well for growing flowers.
After diluting beer with water at a ratio of 1:10, use it once a month to wipe the front and back of the leaves. Over time, not only will the leaves be glossy, but for plants like pothos, the branches will also grow more vigorously.
If the leaves of the flowers and plants in your home appear not smooth or not glossy, you can try Huahua's method. Maybe you will get an unexpected effect!
