More and more people are growing flowers now. Flowers can make people happy, carry beautiful meanings, and even bring good luck. Although growing plants sounds easy, there is actually a lot of knowledge involved in doing it. Many flower lovers kill their first plants by overwatering, so flower lovers must pay attention to watering methods.

1. Do not water flowers at noon

Flower lovers should note that in summer, you generally should not water flowers at noon, because the pot soil temperature is relatively high at noon. If you water them, the pot soil temperature drops, and the plant roots will struggle to adapt, cells will rupture, and then the roots will rot. The ability to absorb nutrients will decline, leading to yellow leaves.

Usually you need to be careful not to pour water on the flowers when watering. Sunlight can also scorch the leaves, and at noon they will wilt and look listless, so you should not water flowers then.

2. Choose a suitable method for watering flowers

When watering flowers, you need to water around the edge of the pot and use a spray bottle to spray at the base of the flowers. In this way, dig a few small holes in the flowerpot so the water can penetrate fully when watering, and you can water the plants. Also pay attention to spraying water on the flowers, make sure the pot soil does not become waterlogged, and keep it moist without letting it dry out. Common foliage plants such as clivia (Clivia miniata), spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum), pothos (Epipremnum aureum), and maidenhair fern (Adiantum) can all be grown well.

That is all for these small watering tips. In daily life, flower lovers should pay attention to using wastewater to water flowers. Common rice-washing water, vegetable-washing water, and soybean water can all be used to water flowers. They also save water resources, supplement nutrients for the flowers, and improve the pH of the soil, so the flowers can bloom better.
