Gardening friend Mr. Wu found an old stump next to a trash can. Because the weather was cold at the time and the leaves had not yet grown out, it was hard to tell what kind of root stump it was. He took it home and potted it up, and after keeping it warm and moist, it finally grew small leaves. After caring for it for a while, it actually bloomed and fruited. It turned out to be an old grape vine stump!

Grapes are tasty and are a fruit that many people like. Quite a few gardening enthusiasts grow grapes on their balconies, covering the balcony and filling it with fruit. You cannot imagine how happy that is!

Even such an old root stump can grow new shoots!

To grow grapes, choose a larger pot. Grape roots are well developed, and the bigger the pot, the more favorable it is for root growth. Choose potting soil with good air permeability and good drainage, and grapes will grow very quickly.

Grape seedlings can be bought or propagated by cuttings yourself. Grape cuttings are relatively simple. In spring, cut a 20 cm branch, keep 2-3 buds, soak it in clean water for 6 hours, and insert it into the soil. The insertion depth should be such that the soil surface is close to the upper bud point. It can take root in about 1 month.

Grapes generally require watering only when the soil is dry, and when watering, water thoroughly. In spring and autumn, you can water about once every 2-3 days. In summer, evaporation is high, so you can water once every 1-2 days. After temperatures drop in autumn and winter, reduce watering frequency.

After grape seedlings are about 20 cm tall, you can fertilize once every half month. During the fruit enlargement period, you can also add foliar fertilizer, applying a 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution 3-4 times, which can make grapes grow larger and sweeter.
