What cultivar is the Seven Fairies orchid? The advantages and fragrance of the Cymbidium ensifolium Seven Fairies

Seven Fairies is a cultivar of Cymbidium ensifolium. This orchid is currently the only strange-shaped flower among the four-season orchid pure-color cultivars, and it has great ornamental value. Because one stem often bears seven flowers, with the flower shape facing upward like a skirt hem, it was named Seven Fairies. In 1962 it was selected in the Datun Mountain area of Tanyong Town, Taipei County, Taiwan, China.

The fragrance is rich. It is very much like the scent of French perfume. A four-season lotus-type pure-color strange flower, a tongueless six-petal flower, with the lip petal mutated and the two column petals assimilated, the lip petal changing into column petals, becoming a strange flower with one nose, three columns and three petals; the flower is large and stands out above the leaves, beautiful in shape and elegant in color. This flower is both a strange flower and a pure-color flower. The disadvantage is that old leaves tend to develop spots and scorched tips, and the leaf shape is tall and large, so when there are no flowers and only leaves remain, it completely loses its fairy-like quality.
