Cake fertilizer is the cheapest fertilizer for growing flowers in the city. Flowers and plants grown with cake fertilizer and those grown without it differ in leaf color and in the size of the flowers and plants.

Harm:

So adding cake fertilizer to plants over the long term will inevitably cause the potting soil to become over-fertilized. And it will cause soil acidification. Everyone knows that soil acidification is quite harmful. It will stop plant roots from growing; reduce the fertility of the soil when fertilizer is added; produce toxic effects on plants; and the acidic environment inhibits the growth of beneficial bacteria, causing plants to have low resistance.

Sometimes it will also cause the soil to become compacted, which is bad for plant growth and crop cultivation.

What to do?

1. Burn straw

Soil acidification means the trace elements it contains are reduced, so use the burning of straw to add plant ash to the soil, or use fly ash. It can not only change the soil's pH but also increase soil fertility.

2. Limewater

The pH of limewater is alkaline, and strongly alkaline, so it can be used to neutralize the acidity and alkalinity of the soil, but when using limewater, try to use slaked lime. This can reduce heat generation and cause irreversible damage to the soil. And pay attention to the dosage.

3. Microorganisms

You can buy some microbial inoculants for biological regulation. It is environmentally friendly and convenient.

4. Blend the soil

Generally, the amount of potting soil for growing flowers and plants at home is still relatively small. You can dig some new soil again, then mix the old soil into it. This not only lowers the pH but also maintains soil fertility.

Notes:

When we grow flowers and plants from now on, we should pay attention to using compound fertilizer. When using organic fertilizers such as cake fertilizer, it must be fully composted.
