Autumn flower care like this makes it easy to grow lush, overflowing pots

Now the autumn air is crisp and the sunlight is just right, and having just passed the hot summer, this is the season best suited for the growth of your home's flowers and plants. So you must do a good job of care in autumn, and this will let your flowers easily grow into lush, overflowing pots.
1. Increase light
After passing through the hot summer, many dormant flowers and plants begin to grow again, such as Christmas cactus (Schlumbergera), kalanchoe (Kalanchoe blossfeldiana), geranium (Pelargonium) and so on. They can be moved from the shady spot to a spot with plenty of light for care, and plants that were shaded in summer can also be moved to a spot with relatively plenty of light for care.
2. Fertilize more
After entering autumn, many flowers and plants begin to enter their growth period, and at this time they need more fertilizer. Plants like pothos (Epipremnum aureum) and spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) especially need more nitrogen-containing fertilizer, such as homemade rice-washing water, fish-tank water from the aquarium, and soybean cake water, and so on.
3. Control watering
For flowers that go dormant in summer, watering needs to be increased in autumn. For example, kalanchoe can generally be watered once a week, and geranium can be watered twice a week; just water after finding the potting soil dry. But after late autumn, watering needs to be reduced, because autumn temperatures begin to drop, and if you water too much it easily leads to leggy growth or even root rot.
4. Pruning
If you want flowers to grow well, necessary pruning is needed in autumn, which can avoid consuming too many nutrients in winter. When pruning in autumn, just prune appropriately; do not prune too much, otherwise the flowers lose their resistance and are prone to frost damage in winter. When pruning, you need to cut off dead branches, diseased branches and leggy branches to ensure the plant has a good shape.
5. Repotting
If you did not repot in spring, the pot has likely already filled up with roots. At this time you can take advantage of the cool autumn weather to repot: cut off all the old roots and weak roots, then disinfect and sterilize with carbendazim, then let the root wounds dry and heal before putting the plant back into the pot.
