Add this to your Christmas cactus and white roots will sprout in 3 days, more effective than rooting powder

More and more people love growing flowers, and many flower enthusiasts like to keep some potted flowers at home, which not only lets them enjoy the blooms but also lifts their mood. And many of the flowers in enthusiasts' homes are bought from flower markets, or are potted plants they obtained through division or cuttings propagation. It is now autumn, the weather is cool, and it is suitable for plant cutting propagation.
The Christmas cactus is a very popular household flower that can produce beautiful blooms in winter, and autumn is the best time to propagate Christmas cactus. The propagation methods for Christmas cactus are generally cutting propagation and grafting propagation. For most flower enthusiasts, cuttings are the simplest and easiest to start with. So today I will teach you how to take Christmas cactus cuttings, and the topic I am sharing with you today is:
Add "it" to your Christmas cactus and "white roots" will sprout in 3 days, more effective than rooting powder!
1. Pruning the branches
When taking Christmas cactus cuttings, generally cut healthy leaves of the current year from the mother plant, then soak the cut leaves in a 0.2% carbendazim aqueous solution for ten minutes to sterilize and disinfect the leaves, so that they are less likely to be infected by pathogens during the later cutting process.
2. Rooting treatment
Prepare an aspirin aqueous solution. Because aspirin contains a large amount of salicylic acid, which can promote the growth and development of plant roots, soak the sterilized Christmas cactus leaves in the salicylic acid aqueous solution for half a day, then let them dry and insert them into the substrate. Of course, you can also cut fresh willow branches from the roadside and soak the willow branches in water for one day; the resulting aqueous solution is rich in salicylic acid and can also be used as a rooting agent for Christmas cactus, promoting the development and growth of the roots on the Christmas cactus leaves. These two common solvents that promote plant rooting are very beneficial for deep rooting of plant cuttings, and are even more effective than ordinary rooting powder.
3. Water rooting
Place the treated leaves in a small plastic pot for growing seedlings, add a little water just to keep them moist, and in about a week the Christmas cactus will grow white roots. Once the roots have grown more numerous and longer, you can pot them up for care.
4. Potting and care
Christmas cactus likes to grow in loose, breathable soil, so when choosing soil, use a mix of garden soil, sand and humus soil in equal proportions, which can ensure the soil's breathability and water permeability while also providing sufficient nutrients for plant growth. Place the pot in a cool, ventilated spot, and in about a week the Christmas cactus will settle in and start growing. When growing Christmas cactus in winter, it is best to place it on a warm balcony with good light, so the plant can develop flower buds and bloom.
Of course, the aqueous solutions of aspirin and willow branches can both be used as rooting agents when taking cuttings of other flowers; they are easy to obtain and work well. So when taking flower cuttings in autumn, you can use these two rooting agents. And in daily care of potted flowers, you can also add these two liquids to the flowerpot to promote the growth and development of the plant's root system.
