Orchids grow vigorously and bloom abundantly, all thanks to this tree's care

We all know that growing orchids well is not easy, but a fellow flower enthusiast, with the help of this "tree," has made orchids plump, bloom profusely and grow strong. Below, Momo will introduce the wonders of this "tree."
This tree is the pine tree, hehe, not unfamiliar, right? Quite apart from anything else, to grow orchids you must first grow the roots. How can you grow the orchid's root system well? The substrate is very important, and combined with light, watering, fertilizing and pruning, success is achieved.
First, pine needles are rich in nutrients and breathable
We all know that after pine needles fall, they mix with the soil and, after years of wind and rain, become excellent pine needle soil, very breathable and fairly well-draining. Moreover, pine needles have a pine resin scent, which can sterilize and repel insects. Most importantly, they are relatively light and can protect the orchid's root system very well.
To use pine needles, you must first ferment them well before use. If used directly, during fermentation the soil acidity will increase, heat will also be produced, burning the orchid's roots, and incomplete fermentation of pine needles will produce a large amount of bacteria, causing the orchid's roots to rot. The best method is to put the pine needles in the sun for 2 days, then seal them in a bucket, ferment for about 2 months, and then you can spread them on the surface of the orchid pot's soil or mix them evenly into the soil.
Second, pine cones are breathable and draining
Pine cones are the fruits borne on pine trees, with a rather special structure, layer upon layer. Placed at the bottom of an orchid pot, they provide very good drainage and also breathability. Moreover, the pine oil inside the pine cones has a very good sterilizing and disinfecting effect, preventing root rot. And after fermentation, the pine cone itself is also a kind of organic fertilizer.
There are 2 ways to use pine cones as pot liner: one is to place them directly at the bottom of the pot, the second is to crush them and then place them directly as liner. However, before use, it is best to put them in a sealed container for about 1-2 months, which not only increases the breathability of the potting soil but also ensures nutrient supply. You can also mix crushed pine needles into the nutrient soil, slowly releasing fertilizer.
Third, pine bark is permeable and also repels insects
Pine bark is a kind of bark on the surface of pine trees. It is generally fairly dry and also has very good permeability, elasticity and extremely small pores. Used to grow orchids, it can increase the breathability of the potting soil while also preventing insect pests and pathogens.
However, to use pine bark, it also needs to be fermented well. You can put the pine bark outdoors in the sun for 2 hours, or boil it in a large pot for 2 hours and then take it out to sun-dry for about 2 days, then put it into a sealed container to ferment for about 2 months. Then you can take it out and put it on the surface of the orchid pot's soil, or place it at the bottom of the pot as an excellent drainage aid for orchids.
Growing orchids: growing roots takes 10 years of skill. With a well-grown root system, the orchid has luxuriant branches and leaves and a strong plant, and this tree's "care" is indispensable
