Learn how to grow Russia's national flower, the sunflower, at home and harvest lots of seeds

Today I'm introducing the especially sunny sunflower. This is a flower that many people really love, and I love it too. Actually, we're all familiar with sunflowers, but everyone knows its flowers, and its fruit is very familiar too.
The seeds we're talking about, everyone likes to eat them too. Actually, in terms of culture around the world, the sunflower has had a relatively profound influence, and we know that Russia, the country with the largest area in the world, our China's first close neighbor, has the sunflower as its national flower. Being able to treat a flower as a national flower proves that the flower's influence in the country is very great.
The entire southern border of Russia is planted all over with sunflowers, so the large expanses of sunflower fields we see in many pictures are actually mostly scenes from Russia. The sunflower has one characteristic: its growth cycle is not very long.
For a high-latitude, extremely cold region like Russia, its annual growing season is very short, so the choice of a plant as a crop is very limited. The sunflower's growth characteristics fit very well. It has so many advantages, and it also bears fruit and is a cash crop, so it can be applied on a large scale in Russia.
Sunflowers are actually very simple to care for. Everyone is very familiar with them. During the sunflower's growth process, facing the sun and having plenty of sunlight are essential, and the sunflower's flower head has a habit of following the sun. In the early stage, when the flower disc is relatively small, it can follow the sun at any time. This is one of its great characteristics. In the later stage of flowering, when the flower has already wilted, its stem following the sun will gradually weaken, and finally it stops turning.
When watering, try to keep the soil moist. The leaves are relatively large, and its ability to hold 30 water is also relatively strong, so sufficient water is very important. Sunflowers also really like fertilizer. We can apply some chemical fertilizer to them. In the later stage of growth, try to keep the soil slightly drier.
