Pothos not growing? It's because this "little thing" hasn't been opened; once opened, it immediately grows like crazy and you can't stop it!

September may be colorful autumn leaves swaying with autumn's charm, or ripe and sweet autumn fruits that infuse the flavor of autumn. September, the season of crisp autumn air; September, the season of abundant fruits; September is exactly the vigorous growing season for pothos!

Because pothos has strong vitality and can survive as soon as it meets water, people call it the "flower of life." Pothos can not only beautify a room but also purify the air and absorb formaldehyde. It is the top choice among potted plants today. Its leaves stay green all year round, and with just a little care it grows full of vitality, making it very popular!

After the scorching summer days, we welcome the fruitful autumn. Autumn is exactly the vigorous growing period for pothos. Why do other people's pothos seem to have a spirit of their own and grow especially fast, changing day by day, while yours just won't grow and stays the same for half a year to a year?

Actually, it's because we haven't opened its "little thing." Once opened, pothos immediately grows like crazy and you can't stop it!

The little thing we're talking about today is the "little whiskers" on the pothos vines, which is what we often call aerial roots. I wonder if friends have ever encountered this phenomenon while caring for pothos: many aerial roots grow on the stems.

These aerial roots that pothos grows are good news for us, showing that the environment around the pothos is very suitable for its growth, and also that our pothos is about to fill its pot, because aerial roots absorb moisture from the air. As long as we don't cut them off, over time, the more aerial roots grow, the more vigorous the pothos will become!

So how do we open these aerial roots of pothos to promote its growth? Let's learn together below!

Actually, the method is very simple. You only need to do two things: "control water and provide diffused light." This way, the aerial roots will keep growing like crazy, and within 2 months, the pothos will grow rapidly and fill its pot!

We all know that pothos is relatively shade-tolerant, but that doesn't mean it gets no sunlight at all. All plants like to grow in a bright environment, which is good for photosynthesis. So generally when we care for pothos, we place it in an environment with good light.

The second point is watering. Many flower lovers always worry that their pothos will lack water, so they water it 2-3 times a day. Actually, this won't work. It easily causes water to accumulate in the pot, leading to root rot in pothos. At this point, what we need to do is control water for the pothos!

Now that autumn has arrived, if we normally water pothos once every 1-2 days, then now we should water once every 3-4 days. This will neither cause water accumulation in the pot nor let the aerial roots quickly pop out!

Of course, while controlling water for pothos, we should also spray water around the leaves and the surrounding environment, so that the surrounding environment doesn't become dry. Let pothos grow in a humid air environment; this way the aerial roots are more likely to emerge, and the speed at which pothos fills its pot is also faster!

Fellow pothos growers, actually it's not that your pothos isn't growing; it's that you haven't carefully observed whether its aerial roots have grown out!
