A retirement life of growing flowers and plants, spending the golden years just like this

When we grow old, you bring the flowers, I bring the tea, and we leave this troublesome world behind.
We will live in an ordinary small town, where there are not many people but all of them are lovely and kind.
We will find a little courtyard with white walls, as a resting place for the rest of our lives.
In front of the house and throughout the yard, we will plant the flowers you love, and raise a few beautiful chickens and ducks.
Then we will dig a pond, and fill it with lotus flowers and fish fry.
Behind the house, we will plant a few vegetables and melons, put up a trellis, and let grapes climb all over the wall.
If the yard feels too small, we will rent another mu and three fen of land, sowing in spring and harvesting in autumn.
The two of us may feel lonely, so we will also keep a big dog and a fat cat for company.
A bowl of porridge, a dish, a cat, a dog, and one person by your side - this is probably the everlasting love that people in this world seek!
In the early morning, push open the gate of the courtyard and gaze at the sun still at the foot of the mountain.
You push the cart to town to buy vinegar and oil, while I sweep the leaves and chop firewood at home, waiting for you to return.
In leisure time, you tend the flowers and plants, while I drink tea and paint.
In the evening, we sit under the tree in front of the gate, with sunflower seeds and green tea set out.
The night sky over the small town is pitch-black and cloudless, and every star blinks its eyes.
Spring, summer, autumn and winter come and go in the small town, and we grow older year by year.
As soon as the spring breeze turns warm, the rose bushes all burst into bloom, and the yard is full of floral fragrance.
The pear tree in front of the gate is covered with white blossoms; standing beneath it, when a sudden breeze passes, pear blossoms cling all over your hair bun.
In summer, the heat blazes and cicadas chirp in waves, yet the lotus flowers in the pond bloom at their fullest under the bright sun.
Holding a book and sitting idly indoors, sipping a cup of green tea you brewed, while a few frog croaks drift in through the window from time to time.
Autumn has arrived, cool winds rise all around, our lotus pond has withered, and the pear tree in front of the gate has turned yellow too.
After a night of pattering autumn rain, with dark clouds still hanging at the edge of the sky, we may as well go back under the covers - who cares about the world's troubles!
In winter, the cold wind bites sharply, snow falls thickly outside the window, and the yard has lost the vitality of spring.
You and I hold each other by the fire, chatting about the village's everyday gossip, while the cat and dog beside us doze off.
How short a lifetime is; I do not seek glory and wealth,
nor do the world's mundane affairs have anything to do with me,
I only seek a plain remainder of life, with firewood, rice, oil and salt,
to find a place to live, and grow old hand in hand with you!
