That summer Sunday, I quietly passed by, and when I happened to look up, I actually saw you, no earlier and no later. I came, and it just so happened that you were here too. "One glance for ten thousand years" describes exactly this feeling.

Your delicate, lively body stood in a magnetic jar, and accompanying you on either side were two even more slender and graceful figures. I knew you were waiting here for me, waiting for me to come from afar to keep the appointment of a single meeting with you. No, I am greedy by nature; I am not satisfied with just one meeting. I want to take you home, to be with you morning and evening, to stay together for a long time.

This is where you once stood and how you look now. The elf maiden of those years, with a single turn, became today's head of the household. May your family be harmonious and may you be happy and healthy.

Your two close friends from back then have joined forces to build an even bigger family. It is hard to believe, yet it is an undeniable fact.

The second you was one I deliberately went looking for, a fresh and refined Echeveria 'Guanyin Lotus' (Sempervivum / Echeveria), a tiny rosette with a crown span of only three cm, sitting upright in a small black square pot. I imagined the way you would become a rainbow lotus, and the corners of my mouth lifted slightly. I never expected that you would not do as I wished, and instead became the Lotus Cult Leader.

Starting from when I found the second you, I searched every kind of material and explanation, and followed Encyclopedia Jun, just as I read the instruction manual for every new home appliance, to learn your name, place of origin, attributes, and preferences. Since I want you to live with me, I must do my utmost to take good care of you; this is my responsibility. Understanding you clearly is the prerequisite. Here I suggest that everyone who intends to live with you should first understand your habits clearly, or at least know a thing or two, before taking you home, and not be as careless as people are when becoming parents, becoming parents casually without any study, training, or assessment. I have always believed that being a parent is the most sacred position in the world, yet it is precisely this most sacred position that is treated most carelessly.

Living with you is so good. We are completely open with each other and share one another's joys and sorrows. The essence of trust is that one person believes another person will protect their interests. In this world where material desires run wild, almost everyone is pursuing the maximization of interests. Who can selflessly protect the interests of others, and who can fully believe that others will protect their own interests? Trust has thus become a luxury. But between you and me, there is mutual trust without reserve. You entrust yourself to me, and I will do my utmost to care for you, so that you become the most beautiful version of yourself.

Favorable timing and favorable conditions have given you and me the best conditions for survival. Spring and summer are rainy, but fortunately the altitude is high and the wind is strong. Where the rain pauses and the wind passes, your charm and lightness stand out even more.

Autumn and winter are dry and cool, and the daily sunlight and morning dew make you plump and mature, flowering and setting seed. I am grateful to Heaven for everything it has given us.

You and I live together between heaven and earth, with utterly different forms, yet our souls are connected. Pruning branches and picking up leaves for you every day, sprinkling water and removing insects, is my happiest moment. I have many thoughts in my heart, and though I have not said a single word, you understand them all, and you show your most beautiful side to soothe my restless heart.

How lucky I am to be with you. You wholeheartedly accept the gifts of rain, dew, and sunlight. After the washing of spring and the refining of summer, in autumn and winter you show me the most special you. Yes, the most special. Even the best painter would find it hard to easily mix these many layers of color. Tell me, how do you do it?

That day, I asked you: Do you have seven emotions and six desires? Do you understand partings and reunions, sorrows and joys? You were silently speechless, yet you showed me the meridians throughout your body, as clear and plain as a map of the human body's blood vessels and meridians. I know, I know, you too are made of flesh and blood.

"What cannot be kept most in this world are rosy faces leaving the mirror and flowers leaving the trees." People in this world are often helpless, and people in this world often sigh with emotion. But you are different. Along the way, your face has been full of calm and composure, adapting to the scenery of the four seasons with different makeup, neither hurried nor slow, neither arrogant nor impatient.

How exactly should I thank you for coming? Only by loving you truly and sincerely, in the way you need, and no longer treating you in the way I think you are thirsty, hungry, hot, or cold. Would that be all right? Let you grow up freely and happily, and become beautiful. Let us from now on hold hands heart to heart, rely on each other and accompany each other, living together in the global village.

My heartfelt thanks to Encyclopedia Jun for providing the platform. I put down the final full stop, let out a long breath, and finally put into words what I wanted to say in my heart.

Usually, when I read the beautiful articles pushed by Encyclopedia Jun, I am very keen on looking at comparison photos. Today I also found a few comparison photos to share with everyone.

The phone's memory is limited, so there are no more comparison photos. Below I am sharing current photos of the succulents.

The last two photos were taken by the roadside.
