Fellow gardeners all know that when growing flowers, you must take good care of the roots. Only when the root system is well maintained can the flowers grow well, making the leaves greener and the blooms more beautiful, and promoting plant growth. So one important point is to provide the flowers with suitable soil, so that the plant roots can grow well.

Using leaf mold plus soybeans to grow flowers

The potting soil for flowers is sometimes rather poor, and at that point root rot and yellow leaves can occur, so leaf mold is generally needed. You can easily get it under trees. Decayed leaves contain lots of humus and microorganisms that can promote plant root growth.

Soak the soybeans in water for 3 hours, then put them in a bottle filled with mineral water. Leave it like that for about a week, then mash the soybeans and add them to the leaf mold.

After the crushed soybeans are added to the soil, the soil becomes looser and more breathable and draining, and you can go a long time without fertilizing. Basically all flowers can use it - whether it is clivia, camellia, gardenia or pothos, it is very suitable.

Fellow gardeners now have some understanding of leaf mold plus soybeans. After digging up leaf mold, when growing flowers, add a bit of crushed soybeans to the soil. It must be soybeans that have been left for a week, which can provide sufficient nutrients for flower growth.
