The flowers at home have bloomed, but beautiful flowers do not stay beautiful for long, which is undoubtedly a great regret. Especially for bouquets that hold special meaning to us, how can we make the beauty of the flowers last? Today, the editor will teach everyone how to make dried flowers, simple and practical!

Natural Air-Drying Method

The natural air-drying method is the simplest and most commonly used method.

1. Choose the fresh flowers you like; be sure to pick ones that are complete and beautiful.

2. Remove excess branches and leaves, tie the bottom ends with string, spread the flower heads apart a little from each other, and hang them upside down in a dry, warm, well-ventilated place without direct sunlight.

3. Tighten the string every few days. This is because as the moisture drains away, the stems will become thinner. Do not touch the petals casually. It will be done in about 3 weeks.

Desiccant

1. Desiccant can usually be found in shoe boxes from shoes you buy and in food packaging bags. Pour out the desiccant and spread it in a box, place the flowers facing up among the desiccant, and close the box.

2. Gently pour the desiccant between the gaps of the flowers, and pour it a bit evenly.

3. The desiccant will change color after absorbing water. Using a transparent box allows you to observe the dehydration status of the flowers at all times. Dried flowers can be made in about a week.

Quartz Sand Drying

1. Pick suitable flower materials. It is best to choose flower materials with smaller flower shapes, hard stems, and lower water content. Buds and flowers that have just opened are the first choice. Then, remove excess leaves and diseased or weak residual branches.

2. First add part of the quartz sand at the bottom, and fix the flower stems during the process. Place the flower materials upright, with the flower stems fixed in the sand. Note that they must be placed upright; otherwise, the weight of the quartz sand can easily change the shape of the flowers.

3. Use a small spoon to slowly fill the container with quartz sand. Be careful during the process, and continuously shake the container slightly so that the quartz sand can fully fill the gaps. At the same time, adjust the posture of the flowers in time to ensure they are completely submerged in the sand.

4. Let it sit in a cool, dry place for about a week. The time can be adjusted according to the dryness of the air and the water content of the petals; the longer the time, the higher the degree of drying.

5. When taking the flowers out, be careful and gentle during the process, do not damage the condition of the flowers, and then use a soft-bristled brush to brush away the surface dust.

About quartz sand:Quartz sand can generally be easily bought in craft stores or on Taobao, and comes in both large and small granules. Note that what is used for making dried flowers is refined quartz sand with very high fineness, in the form of pure white powder. Another advantage of quartz sand is that it is rot-resistant, never deteriorates, and will not react with other chemicals to produce other chemical changes.

Microwave Baking

1. Microwave baking is the fastest method. But it is only suitable for relatively flat plants, such as daisies, calendulas, small roses, baby's breath, and so on.

2. Lay the fresh flowers flat on paper. Separate them one by one with distance. Avoid them sticking together after drying.

3. Fold the paper in half and press the plants inside. Put it in the microwave and heat for about 30 seconds to one minute. Take it out and it is done; you can frame it.

Pressed Flowers

I believe many friends tried pressing flowers as children, that is, pressing flowers in books to make dried flowers.

1. Choose relatively small, flat flowers, such as violets. Find a base board; newspaper or cardstock will both work. Place the flowers flat on top and arrange them in a shape you like.

2. Place large and heavy objects on top, such as a large dictionary or a heavy box. Wait for about 1 week, then change the base board for pressing the flowers. Then continue pressing.

3. Wait another 1-2 weeks, remove the heavy objects, and it is done; the pressed flowers are complete. (You can frame them or make bookmarks.)

Dried Flower Care

1. If dried flowers have dust, you can use a hair dryer on low warm setting to blow it away. It is best to take the dried flowers outside to blow them, because cleaning dried flowers this way will not dirty other items at home.

2. Dried flowers generally do not need water, but leaf-vein dried flowers can be sprayed with a small amount of water using a spray bottle; it must be very little, so that the leaf-vein flowers look more vibrant. You can also drip a few drops of essential oil onto the dried flowers. The diffusion of the essential oil can fill the entire room with fragrance and can also adjust the indoor atmosphere.

3. Dried flowers should be placed in a cool, dry place that is not directly exposed to sunlight.
