Everyone knows pothos is easy to grow, but many plant lovers are not quite sure how to grow it so it grows fast and lush. Below, the editor explains it.

Watering

Normally you do not need to water too much, just keep the potting soil moist but not wet, but you should spray the pothos leaves with water often, as this helps the leaves absorb moisture. There is another watering method: growing it half in soil and half in water, using a watertight pot, filling it with enough water so the water covers the soil. This also works, and the pothos grows very fast this way too.

Fertilizing

We should develop the habit of fertilizing. For pothos, nitrogen fertilizer is the main type; normally we follow the principle of applying thin fertilizer frequently, and organic fertilizer is even better.

Light

Often place the pothos in a spot with slightly better light for a few days, letting it get some light and ventilation, which also helps its growth.

Cuttings

We know pothos vines have aerial roots; in a natural environment, wherever the vine climbs, the roots take hold. Because of this, pothos roots easily wither and age, so we should develop the habit of taking cuttings, which allows the old and new to alternate and keeps the potted pothos looking lush.

Soil

The growing soil for pothos should be loose, breathable, well-draining loam or sandy soil rich in humus. For rooting pothos cuttings, plain sand can be used, or if conditions allow, vermiculite or perlite can be chosen, as these root quickly and give a high survival rate.
