Friends who love skincare must be familiar with the beauty benefits of aloe, right? That's right, aloe has anti-inflammatory and beauty effects. But friends who love growing plants are certainly no strangers to aloe either. Aloe is not only lovely to look at, but also purifies the air, absorbs odors, resists radiation and more, making it an indispensable plant in people's lives.

But many friends have told Huahua that their aloe leaves have gone soft and they can't fix it themselves, so they have no choice but to ask others for help. Yes, although aloe is easy to grow, its leaves very easily go soft, so today Huahua wants to talk about what methods to use when aloe leaves go soft.

To know the solution, you must first know the cause - that's what they mean by "whoever tied the bell must untie it."

Cause one: overwatering

When aloe leaves go soft, the first thing to think of is watering. Aloe is a drought-tolerant plant and doesn't really need that much water day to day. But if we water it too much, so that what the aloe absorbs is not nutrients but water, then we can hardly blame the roots for going soft.

Cause two: too much light

All plants need sunlight for adequate photosynthesis, and aloe is actually no exception - it's just that if the light is too strong, it causes a large amount of water to evaporate from the aloe's leaves, and the leaves go soft. So we must pay attention when caring for it.

Cause three: compacted soil

If there's a problem with the soil, how can the aloe grow well? If the soil becomes compacted, it affects the plant's ability to absorb nutrients. Unable to take in water and nutrients, the plant's roots will naturally go soft and problems will appear.

Cause four: low temperature

This mainly refers to the problem caused by temperatures being too low in winter, so we should also pay attention when growing it: aloe is drought-tolerant but not cold-tolerant. To let the aloe get through winter safely, it's best to keep the ambient temperature above 10°C.

Solutions:

1. If the aloe roots have gone soft due to overwatering, you must stop watering. Dig out the whole aloe plant, cut off the rotted roots and replant it, and gradually bring the aloe back to life with scientific and reasonable growing methods. Keep the watering frequency at once every 7-10 days in spring and autumn, once every 2-3 days in summer, and once every 15-20 days in winter.

2. Move the aloe to a cool place, and once it slowly recovers, put it in a spot with bright, indirect light to grow, and it will gradually recover.

3. For the problem of compacted soil, we can consider repotting the aloe with new soil, use a suitable soil mix, loosen the soil once a week, and repot with fresh soil once every two years.

4. In winter, keep the aloe warm and reduce watering, and there's generally not much of a problem.
