After a harsh summer, I believe the succulents at home are in a sorry state for many succulent lovers. If there are still some survivors among your succulents, then we need to take some rescue measures to help them revive.

Most succulent deaths and injuries in summer are due to soil problems. If the potting soil for your succulents has poor air permeability, then once you water them or they get rained on, black rot is very likely to occur. Poke the soil with your finger - if it feels quite hard, then it's best to repot the succulents and add some water-permeable and breathable materials, so that the succulents can grow better.

1. Maifan stone

Maifan stone contains many trace elements. It can not only supplement nutrients for succulents but also has excellent water permeability and air permeability. Now that autumn is here with clear skies and the temperature has dropped noticeably, this is a suitable time for repotting, which can help the succulents revive.

2. Vermiculite

Vermiculite, as an organic soil medium, can enhance the air permeability of the soil and prevent root rot caused by overwatering. Generally, mixing half vermiculite into the soil works well. For succulents with root rot, cut off the rotten parts, let the wounds dry, and then they can be repotted for care.

3. Bone meal

Summer-growing succulents are in their peak growing season in August and September. For these succulents, normal watering and fertilizing are fine, but do not apply concentrated fertilizer. Bone meal not only contains rich calcium and phosphorus elements but also slowly releases its nutrients, making it most suitable as a base fertilizer for succulents.

4. Slow-release fertilizer

In autumn, most succulents enter their growing season. Succulents are small, and if they barely grow a few leaves in a year, then some fertilizer supplementation is needed. If you don't want to change the soil, you can use chopsticks to poke a few holes in the pot, then put a few granules of slow-release fertilizer in, and this will supplement nutrients for the succulents.
