What to Do When the Leaves of a Money Tree Dry Up and Fall Off? Find the Cause and Treat It Accordingly

Generally, when people grow green plants at home, they like to pick ones with auspicious meanings or feng shui symbolism, such as the money tree, the peace tree, lucky bamboo, and so on, and the yuanbao tree is actually one of them too. But if during care you find that the leaves have developed a series of problems, what should you do?
In the process of growing the yuanbao tree, the leaf problems that appear generally include drying up, falling off, and so on, and these symptoms are mainly caused by several factors, namely: the growing conditions failing to meet its needs, the threat of pests and diseases, and so on; below we explain the specific situations from these aspects.
1. Light problems
When there is not enough light, the leaves of the plant will also start to turn yellow, but do not expose the plant directly to strong light just to supplement light, as that will scorch the leaves.
2. Fertilizer problems
The concentration of fertilizer applied must be well controlled, neither too high nor too low; if too high, it will burn the plant and cause the leaves to dry up from excess fertilizer.
3. Pests and diseases
1. The main pests of the yuanbao tree are mostly moths and the like. The most direct and effective method against pests is spraying with pesticide; a few pests can be dealt with by physical control methods, such as fumigation with mosquito coils, blasting with water, and so on.
2. The main disease is powdery mildew. The diseased state first infects the leaves; in the early stage it is relatively hard to spot on the underside of the leaves, and gradually the green color of the leaves fades away. When the diseased state is not brought under control, some small black spots will gradually appear on the leaf surface, and such a condition is already very serious. This disease often occurs during the period from May to September.
Control methods
1. Pay attention to the ventilation of the plant; do not plant too densely, and appropriately increase phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, which can improve the plant's disease resistance.
2. Pay more attention to the level of environmental hygiene; as soon as the flowering period ends, promptly remove and burn all branches and leaves affected by disease and pests, so as to minimize the spread of disease.
3. Before the plant's budding stage and growing stage, do a good job of pesticide prevention and control, and avoid the dosage used during the plant's flowering period and high-temperature period. Pesticides are generally applied mainly by spraying, and the number of sprays should be adjusted according to the degree to which the plant is threatened by disease; for severe cases, spray once a week; for mild cases, once every half month is enough. In the early spring budding stage, a eradicant can be used to completely eliminate the pathogen, and its effect is very good.
The yuanbao tree is a green plant with an auspicious meaning. Its growth rate is very fast, and the size of the plant can be controlled. If you want a small plant, grow it in a small flower pot; if you want a large plant, grow it in a large flower pot. It can also be planted in the ground in a courtyard, and its ornamental effect is also very good.
