People call the rose the "queen of flowers," which shows the place it holds in the hearts of growing enthusiasts. Indeed, roses not only come in a wide variety of types, but each one has its own distinctive features, making them a great choice for container growing at home. Of course, the most crucial point is that if we care for them properly, then for at least three seasons of the year we can enjoy the wonderful presence of rose blooms. So is there any trick to rose care? With this question in mind, I consulted an old man with over a decade of rose-growing experience, and he told me a special secret recipe: in fact, all you need is a handful of soybeans to grow roses plump and beautiful.

Can soybeans really grow roses?

Many people may have this doubt, but it must be said that this is absolutely necessary! Because soybeans themselves have extremely high nutritional value, such as abundant nitrogen. If they can be used to grow flowers, not only can they save us quite a bit of money in costs, but they are also quite beneficial for roses, so if you have soybeans at home that have gone moldy or can no longer be eaten, then rather than throwing them away and wasting resources, why not follow the method in this article to turn them into fertilizer and let your little roses enjoy a wonderful feast!

Two methods for growing roses with soybeans:

The first, and relatively simple, method is the soil-burying method! All it requires is soybean grains. Boil the soybeans from home and then dry them in a ventilated place; after about 2 days they can be used as flower fertilizer.

Its operation is also very simple. If we need to fertilize the roses, we can make a small hole in the flowerpot about 5 cm away from the rose roots, then put 7 or 8 boiled and dried soybeans into it. If more holes are made, then the number of soybeans in each small hole can be reduced appropriately; once done, just bury them directly.

The second method is to make soybean liquid fertilizer. First, we still need to boil and dry the soybeans that are no longer used at home, then we must grind these processed soybeans into powder and set aside. Next, prepare 1 kg of flaxseed cake, 1 kg of rice bran, and half a kg each of fish meal and bone meal. Put all the materials into a large sealed container, then fill it with water and leave it under the sun to bake.

After about 5 months (if it is summer, then about 2 months is enough), our soybean water is successfully made. Of course, during the making process there may be a foul smell; those who are more sensitive to smells can add some orange peel to the soybean water in advance, which neutralizes the odor while also making the soybean water slightly acidic, which is also better for roses.

The fully fermented soybean water can then be used to water flowers, but note that before use it is best to add a large amount of clean water to dilute it, and when watering, pour slowly along the edge of the flowerpot. Remember not to flood it with a big rush of water or pour it directly onto the rose leaves, as this can easily cause fertilizer damage.
