How to care for succulents in early autumn? Master these little tips and every pot will grow like crazy

After enduring an entire summer, when autumn arrives, many fellow succulent growers think the good times have finally come, and so they can't wait to shower their succulents with all kinds of care. But based on our many years of growing experience, during this period just after the start of autumn, succulent care can't afford the slightest carelessness. Even a tiny bit of neglect will immediately show up in the condition of the succulents, so we need to be especially careful.
You should know that even though the Start of Autumn has already passed, the "autumn tiger" (late-summer heat) means temperatures in most parts of our country are still at a fairly high level. In some places, the midday temperature can still reach around 35°C. It must be said that this temperature is almost no different from summer, and it is extremely unfavorable for succulents, so some of the little tricks we used in summer can actually still be used now.
First, let's emphasize the issue of "using the scissors." Many fellow succulent growers want to strip leaves and behead their plants as soon as autumn arrives, hoping to create a nice shape. Actually, the editor thinks this is a bit too hasty. As we said above, because of the autumn tiger, the temperature is still relatively high, and at this time carrying out large-scale leaf-stripping and beheading on the succulents is itself somewhat risky. So even if you already have this idea in mind, the editor still advises you to wait for now. Perhaps when the temperature drops a bit more, then you can start.
Next is the watering issue we always talk about. The principle of "water only when the pot is dry, and water thoroughly when you do" is still something we need to firmly carry out. But besides that, another issue to note is to pay close attention to the weather conditions the next day. We all know that as autumn arrives, the temperature difference between day and night gradually increases. Under such conditions, succulents will surely grow more and more beautiful. But if we keep placing the succulents on the balcony for this reason, it's very likely that the strong midday sun the next day will scorch them. And if we watered improperly the night before and got water droplets on the succulent leaves, then the next day under intense sun the leaves may become sunburned. Be especially careful.
The last point is the issue of preventing and controlling pests and diseases. After the Start of Autumn, there are more periods with temperatures in the twenties, and the comfortable temperature and humidity also provide a suitable living environment for various pests and pathogens, which may even begin to multiply in large numbers. A fairly good preventive method is to increase ventilation. If conditions at your home allow, you can add an exhaust fan to the succulent shed or directly use a fan to blow air across them. If you don't have one, you should also frequently move the succulents around and place them more often on windowsills with good air circulation, which will also have a certain effect.
