The rubber plant's leaves are thick and gorgeous, broad, beautiful and glossy, and its terminal buds are red, resembling crouching clouds. It stays evergreen all year round and is a famous potted foliage plant, deeply loved by many flower lovers.

If you want your rubber plant to be majestic and magnificent and to enhance its ornamental value, pay special attention to these 3 points, so its branches grow thick, its leaves become twice as thick, and its veins are clear - absolutely gorgeous!

1. Light

The rubber plant likes bright indirect light and dislikes strong light. When grown indoors, from May to September it should be placed in a sunny area slightly close to a window, avoiding direct sunlight; exposure to some morning and evening sun is best. In spring and winter it can be placed near the windowsill to receive more light, making its leaves glossy and its veins clear.

2. Water

The rubber plant likes a humid environment. Apart from winter, when it should be kept appropriately dry, at other times spray water on the branches and leaves more often to increase humidity and prevent the leaf tips from drying out and wilting. Water by the principle of "water when dry, and when wet, water thoroughly," and avoid waterlogging, which can easily cause root rot. Before watering, let the water sit for 2-3 days first, especially tap water; you can add a few drops of ferrous sulfate to improve water quality and increase iron, making the rubber plant more glossy.

3. Fertilizer

During the peak growing season, the rubber plant should be given a moderate increase in fertilizer, mainly nitrogen fertilizer. Bury some cooked soybeans or bone meal in the potting soil, and once a month water in 1-2 times with fermented bean cake water, fish intestine water, rice washing water, etc. After September, stop applying nitrogen fertilizer and instead apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to improve cold resistance and help the rubber plant get through winter better.

Each time new buds emerge and grow for a while, you can spray a 0.1% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution on the branches and leaves, which can make the leaves even thicker and also increase the plant's resistance.

That's all for rubber plant care. If you have other additions, flower lovers, you can share them with everyone in the comments section below. To learn more about flower growing, you can follow Huajianke!
