Growing a pomegranate on the balcony: branches and leaves grow fast, the flowers are beautiful, it is cold-hardy and easy to grow, and it bears fruit every year

Autumn is here, and it is also the season when pomegranates ripen. The pomegranate is a delicious, juicy fruit rich in vitamin C. In fact, pomegranates can be grown in an open-air yard or in a flower pot on a balcony, producing fruit that is both large and attractive. Whether it is a flowering pomegranate or a fruiting pomegranate, both are very easy to keep alive, easier to grow than other potted fruit trees. How should a potted pomegranate tree be grown?
For a potted pomegranate, first choose a somewhat larger flower pot, because the pomegranate grows too fast. In one year it can more than double in size. The pot should be at least 25 cm in diameter and more than 20 cm deep. That way there is plenty of soil, enough for its root system to grow normally.
Fertile soil is better, because it needs to absorb a lot of nutrients during growth. Add some leaf mold, cow manure fertilizer, chicken manure fertilizer and so on to ordinary garden soil, then add a little cinder or coarse sand. This way the potting soil is both fertile and not prone to compacting, which is very good for the growth of the pomegranate tree.
Keep plenty of light at ordinary times; it is fine even to put it directly on the terrace and let it get direct sun in the middle of summer, as long as you water it in time, there is no problem. In summer and autumn, water more often and with more water; when the potting soil is dry, replenish the water in time. When winter comes and the temperature drops, reduce watering.
When growing a potted pomegranate, do not place other potted plants too close and too crowded, so that the pomegranate gets ventilation and light, plenty of sunshine and good airflow. Then it is also less likely to get bugs, and the plant grows especially lush and sturdy.
In spring and autumn, when the temperature is around 20 degrees, just fertilize more, watering with some organic fertilizer water or cake fertilizer water and the like, and it will grow especially fast. The flowers are especially beautiful, orange blossoms, bright and lovely!
The potted pomegranate is fairly cold-hardy; it is fine left outside even when it snows. Mine is grown on the terrace, and I have never brought it inside in winter. Its leaves drop in winter, but in spring many new leaves sprout again, so there is no need to worry.
Xiaoya grows a pomegranate in a flower pot on the terrace. From a small seedling at the start, in just one or two years the plant has grown from a seedling into a very large one. Now it has grown so much it has filled the pot, and it bears fruit every year.
The more fertilizer you give a pomegranate tree, the bigger and more numerous the fruit, quite beautiful, and the taste is very good too. It can also be grown into a beautiful bonsai.
