Propagating Christmas cactus by cuttings in autumn: two leaves grow into a pot, rooting fast, growing well and blooming abundantly

Autumn has arrived. After a whole summer of heat, many flowers and plants are gradually perking up again and entering a period of vigorous growth. September is also a good time to take cuttings of flowers and plants, especially Christmas cactus. In September, it is very suitable for taking Christmas cactus cuttings. After cutting, they root especially fast and grow very well.
The cutting time for Christmas cactus:
Generally, cuttings can be taken in both spring and autumn, but the survival rate is higher in autumn, especially when cuttings are taken in September, which is the most suitable time, so flower lovers should not miss this time.
The cutting method for Christmas cactus:
Prepare an ordinary flower pot, or a small square box, and fill it with loose, breathable soil. It can be sandy soil, pine needle soil or leaf mold soil with sand, garden soil, vermiculite, etc. added.
Prepare Christmas cactus stems. One leaf or two leaves are both fine. Do not choose branches and leaves that are damaged or affected by pests and diseases. Let the branches and leaves dry, which takes about two to three days. Dip them in a little rooting powder to root faster.
Then insert them into the medium. The insertion depth is about one half of the entire stem. Keep the leaves upright. If the potting soil is moist and the air humidity is high, there is no need to water. If the potting soil is relatively dry, slowly water it thoroughly. But do not water it into a muddy state; too much water is also not good.
After cutting, be sure to place it in a place with weak light and good ventilation. It must not be exposed to the sun. It is best to cover the surface with a layer of film or other light-blocking material, for example by putting a plastic bag over it. This can avoid light and also maintain humidity, and roots will begin to grow in just over ten days. Be sure not to water too much; half-dry or slightly moist is enough.
Moreover, after cutting, fertilizer can only be applied after more than a month. Applying fertilizer too soon can easily burn the roots. After one month, it can gradually receive diffused light. If you want Christmas cactus to bloom smoothly, keep it in a dark, light-free state at night, and diffused light during the day is enough. It is a short-day plant.
Christmas cactus flowers are especially beautiful, and the flowering period is especially long. It can bloom from October of that year all the way to February of the following year. The flowers come in many colors such as orange, yellow, red, and white. In ordinary care of Christmas cactus, in summer it should be placed in a cool, shaded place. It is relatively drought-tolerant, so water only after the potting soil is dry. A blooming Christmas cactus is especially stunning!
