What to do when your Radermachera sinica (China doll) looks listless and lifeless

What to do when your Radermachera sinica has no vitality?
If your Radermachera sinica produces few new leaves and few new branches as it grows, and the whole plant looks listless and shows no progress, this usually means there is a problem with the root system. There are generally two possible causes.
One possibility is root rot. This is directly related to how you care for it, mainly because you do not adjust your watering according to changes in the environment, ventilation and light. The quality of the potting soil is also directly related to how often you water. This is especially true when the potting soil is poor. At this point, improper watering can very easily cause root rot in Radermachera sinica.
There is another situation that causes Radermachera sinica to have no vitality and no vigorous growth: the potting soil has not been changed for a long time. The pot is packed full of Radermachera sinica roots. The plant has no nutrients left to absorb.
In either of these two situations, you need to take the plant out of the pot and change the soil. Check the roots of Radermachera sinica; if there are any rotten parts, be sure to cut them all off. If the roots in the pot are packed full, thin them out as well. When repotting, be sure to use loose, breathable potting soil, and be sure to add a little bio-organic fertilizer to the soil; bio-organic fertilizer is especially good for root growth. After repotting the Radermachera sinica, it is recommended to saw off those two lifeless main trunks directly at the base. Half a month after repotting, apply a potassium fertilizer once. It will not be long before your Radermachera sinica regains its vitality.
