What should you do when the leaves of your money tree turn yellow?

When money tree leaves turn yellow, it is mainly caused by inadequate care during our maintenance routine. The money tree counts as a relatively expensive ornamental plant. To grow a money tree well, we first need to understand it.

Money trees are all grown indoors. Although the money tree is shade-tolerant, it still needs some light to grow. If you keep the money tree in an indoor corner for a long time, it will turn yellow and weak from lack of light, and the whole plant will weaken from prolonged light deprivation. Even people get a Saturday and Sunday off. Every week you can move the money tree outside to receive some afternoon light; do not move it out at noon, because many plants are afraid of the noon sun, especially in summer.

Although the money tree is easy to grow, you must pay close attention to the condition of the potting soil. If the potting soil is not in good condition, you must repot and change the soil in time before the potting soil becomes waterlogged and compacted. When changing the soil for a money tree, be sure to use a loose, breathable mix, such as peat soil, perlite and vermiculite, and the proportion of peat soil in it must be a bit lower. Peat soil has good nutrients, but if the proportion of peat soil is too high, water retention will be high and drainage will be very poor.

The money tree actually quite likes organic fertilizer as it grows. It is best to apply organic fertilizer twice a year. Money trees given organic fertilizer grow well, with broad, thick, vibrant leaves. Normally you can apply a liquid fertilizer once every half month. Before winter arrives, apply a potassium fertilizer and organic fertilizer once. The money trees I grow never get yellow leaves from a lack of fertilizer.

Watering a money tree is also especially convenient. We water the money tree according to the season. During the growing season, the money tree must be watered thoroughly only after the soil has dried out completely. In summer and winter, be sure to water the money tree less and use misting instead of watering.

There is another kind of yellow leaf that cannot be avoided or changed, and that is aging. It is fine to let this natural decline take its course; there is no need to worry about it.
