Clivia (Clivia miniata) is elegant and distinctive, with outstanding grace, and is deeply loved by gardening enthusiasts. But many friends are puzzled: why, even after the start of autumn, does the clivia still not bloom?

Today I'll talk with you about how to get your clivia to grow leaves and bloom after the start of autumn. The first thing we need to do is replace the soil in the clivia's pot.

Because clivia's root system grows very fast, the nutrients in the soil are quickly used up, and the consequence of lacking nutrients is that the clivia not only fails to grow new leaves and bloom, but its leaves may even turn yellow.

So the soil-changing frequency for mature clivia should be once a year, while for clivia seedlings it should be twice a year. A well-mixed nutrient soil, or a mix of leaf mold and fine river sand in a 4:1 ratio, are both good choices.

It's worth mentioning that before changing the soil, you should stop watering for seven days; after changing it, firm the potting soil and water it thoroughly. The second thing is that autumn is exactly the growing season for clivia, so it needs a relatively large amount of fertilizer.

We can use specialized flower fertilizer, or bury peanuts and soybeans rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and calcium into small holes around the flower pot, which ensures the clivia gets abundant nutrients. That's all for today's sharing. Thanks for watching, and see you next time!
