At the very beginning of autumn, the "autumn tiger" heat could still act up a little, but now the climate is gradually turning cooler, and the vigorous growth and blooming period for roses has come again. It is time to give them some strong feeding, so the roses can regain their vitality and enter the golden period of blooming.

To give roses strong feeding, you would not want to feed them hormones, would you? Of course not. We generally add some base fertilizer for roses, such as well-fermented hemp seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and so on. These are all oil-rich feeds that roses love to eat, but besides these, roses also like to eat walnut kernels.

Fellow flower growers will cry out: walnuts cost 18 yuan per jin, and after shelling them there is not much left. People do not even get to eat them, let alone feed them to clivias. Is that not too extravagant? If you specially buy walnuts to feed roses, it is indeed not as cost-effective as buying nutrient solution, and nutrient solution is also more convenient to use and provides more comprehensive and balanced nutrition.

But if you have walnuts at home that have been stored for a long time, have already become a bit off in taste, and you do not want to eat them but feel bad throwing them away, then you can consider giving them to your roses. Remember they must be pure natural walnuts, not those that have been roasted or processed, as they contain too much salt and will harm the roses.

Moreover, walnuts themselves are quite high in oil. Using too much can easily cause root burn during the fermentation process. It is generally recommended for garden roots, and it is best to place them at the edge of the pot soil, away from the plant. For a flower pot of 10-odd cm, placing 3-4 kernels is enough.

If it is a rose that has just been repotted or potted up, you can put a layer of soil at the bottom, then place a few walnut kernels, and then cover them with soil. In this way, they can be kept away from the roots. During watering, the nutrients will be slowly released and dispersed, promoting root growth.

There are also walnut shells. Throwing them away is a bit of a pity, because walnut shells have a grooved structure and can be used as a drainage layer at the bottom of the flower pot. Walnuts themselves are relatively hard and not easy to rot. Placed at the bottom, they can play a very good role in drainage and increase the air permeability of the pot soil.

Of course, having base fertilizer can provide roses with a certain amount of nutrients, but for roses to develop flower buds and bloom, they need sufficient fertilizer supplementation, especially phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Huazengduo rose-specific organic fertilizer is a good choice. It is not only rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, but also rich in substances such as humic acid, promoting the plant to grow rapidly, with lush green leaves, large flowers and a long flowering period.

Fellow flower growers, hurry up. No matter what fertilizer you use, in autumn you should properly supplement roses with some nutrients, and they will not let down your expectations.
