Bougainvillea's blooms are especially beautiful. Many flowers, many varieties, strong adaptability, can bloom profusely. It is a very good potted flower. Regarding the blooming issues of bougainvillea, many places have already talked about it, today I will talk about these two points, because these two points are easily overlooked or always hard to grasp.

1, It cannot provide enough light. Judging from the vegetative growth situation, bougainvillea is not very strict about light intensity. Bougainvillea will become vigorous under full lighting, but in an environment with insufficient light, it will also thrive. However, the flowering situation is completely different. Under full lighting it easily forms flowers, and the flowers cluster. When the light is poor it is hard to bloom. Even if it can open a few flowers, there are very few dragged out. The flowering period is very short, and it cannot bloom, so if you want bougainvillea to bloom, this makes it hard to get enough sun.

2, Unreasonable water and fertilizer management. Many flower friends call bougainvillea a flower that needs large amounts of water and large amounts of fertilizer, but in many years of practice, I have realized that it is very hard to make bougainvillea bloom with large amounts. A flower friend once told me that he had once seen bougainvillea in a greenhouse begin to sprout, and several pots had already bloomed, so they spent some time fertilizing and poured enough water to make it open. More luxuriant, longer, and the result was counterproductive. Not only did it not bloom better, but the flowering branches quickly entered the vegetative growth period, the sprouted buds, opened larger, quickly opened, became smaller, had no time to open, it is what it is.

Therefore, bougainvillea is very sensitive to water and fertilizer, especially nitrogen fertilizer. If you are slightly careless, it will affect normal flowering. After July, nitrogen fertilizer is not allowed. Watering should be controlled as much as possible. Do not give it enough water. From July onward, it is necessary to strictly restrict watering. Water, so that every day there is a certain degree of wilting, so bougainvillea not only has a long flowering period before blooming. My principle is to be a bit on the lacking side, not too much.
