The difference between acacia trees and silk trees: easily distinguished by leaves and flowers
1. Differences in the trunk
The trunk of the acacia tree has many thorns distributed on it, is grayish-brown in color, and it is a deciduous small tree.
The silk tree has many aliases, has no thorns on its trunk, can reach a height of 16 m, and is darker in color.
2. Differences in the leaves
The leaves of the acacia tree grow symmetrically outward and fold together in pairs at night. The leaves grow relatively late, after flowering.
The silk tree generally has 10 to 30 pairs of leaflets, which are linear or oblong in shape, about 6-12 mm in length and about 1-4 mm in width, with small hairs distributed along the edges. The leaves grow before the flowers open.
3. Differences in the flowers
The acacia tree's flowers are yellow, and from a distance they look like yellow clouds, very beautiful and lovely.
The silk tree's flowers are white or pink, with a tubular calyx about 3 mm long, and the flowering period is from June to July.
