In our understanding, the peel and pit of ordinary fruit are generally not edible, but today I want to introduce a very magical fruit; not only is its peel edible, its pit is edible too, and it not only has high nutritional value, containing rich vitamins, organic acids and pectin, but also has very good medicinal value; the peel and pit can both be used as medicine, with effects such as promoting digestion and regulating qi, and it can also prevent influenza. It can be said that the whole fruit is a treasure. This fruit is the wampee (huangpi guo), and the wampee has strong adaptability; it can be grown on your own balcony, and it can be planted in all four seasons, with high yield too. Throw one "seed" into the soil, and next year the fruit will hang all over the branches. Next, let's talk about the key care points for wampee:

1. Soil requirements

Actually, wampee does not have very high requirements for soil. After planting the seed, as long as the soil is not too dry, and has a certain looseness and air permeability, that is enough. Ordinary garden soil can also be used, but if you want more fruit next year, it is best to use sandy gravel, which can ensure its drainage and will not allow water to accumulate, causing it to fail to survive!

2. Temperature requirements

Once the soil requirements are met, next are the temperature requirements. The current season, just entering autumn, is the most suitable for wampee growth, because the temperature now is roughly between 25 and 30 degrees, and at this temperature, new buds can sprout in about 12 days. However, note that wampee likes a warm environment, preferably above 20 degrees, and is rather sensitive to cold. If it is below 0 degrees, it is not good for wampee growth. Also, it needs no less than 6 hours of sunlight every day; then next year's fruit will not only be abundant in yield, but will also taste very good!

3. Water requirements

Wampee is a fruit that stays green all year round, with strong adaptability and a relatively high survival rate. As long as it is cared for properly, flowering and fruiting will naturally not be scarce. It prefers a somewhat moist environment, so you might as well water it a bit more often, but be careful not to let water accumulate; just keep the potting soil moist enough normally!

Wampee, as a fruit whose peel and pit are both edible, is also especially easy to grow. Throw one "seed" into the soil, care for it according to the requirements above, and next year the fruit will hang all over the branches!
