The yard was built by my own hands

I picked up a rock and had nowhere to put it, so I just made a small flower bed mound, of course, the simple version!
Then I started planting a grafted tree rose. This one's flowers are big and beautiful, but because I didn't think it through at the time and put it in this corner, it couldn't get full sun, so the leaves on the side against the wall were pretty much gone. This year I wanted to move it to a different spot, but when I went to lift the pot, I couldn't budge it. I thought, is the soil really that heavy? No matter how I pulled, it wouldn't move. Then I reached down and felt the bottom of the pot, and it turned out the rose's roots had grown right through the drainage holes, and it was now in direct contact with the ground. Sigh... it went off to find its own crew!
Because of work, I'm only home on weekends, so I really treasure the days at home. Every time I rush to get things done, and every time my old back is nearly breaking, so sore that even turning over in bed hurts... But so what? After a week of recovery, I'm back again
Continue... continue... The original small flower bed against the wall was really too small, and the layout didn't look nice either. I tried rearranging the bricks. The water vat at home had always been empty. I originally wanted to use the vat to make a water feature, but considering I'd already "invaded" this space, and it would need electricity for the landscaping, wouldn't the two elders at home scold me to death! Forget it, forget it. I'd rather change the style and not step on a landmine!
These two window frames were probably used in my husband's family home about 30 years ago. I found them in our storage room. They're not the really old style, but they're still unusual. Washed them clean and put them to use!
This is how it looks after placing the windows. Hmm, that water vat doesn't look good, it's too big, swap it out...
Swapped out the big water vat for a small flour vat, plus an owl with messy hair. For now, this is it...
The little goldfish in the vat won't show themselves when I try to photograph them, so naughty...
I've always loved things made of treated wood,
I found a treated wood chair on Taobao, all connected, doesn't take up space,
Suitable for my not-so-big yard, and the seating area is deep, so you can sit cross-legged on the whole thing
At first there was nothing underneath, and it always felt bare, with a drainage pipe sticking out too, and no matter how I looked at it, it felt uncomfortable,
Later at the flower market, I picked up a 2-meter-long and wide piece of green artificial turf,
Laid it down, and instantly it felt so much more comfortable and harmonious;
Sometimes, alone, even if there are mosquitoes at night sometimes, I'll just sit there spacing out, playing on my phone, drinking tea,
Everything's good, I just like being alone...
Sharing some of the flowers and plants I've gradually added,
They're all common varieties,
But they're all my beloved favorites
Every week I grab the weekend and start tinkering
Arranging the succulents into a different kind of vibe, haha
At least for now it's still pretty good
Even though they've spread out flat like pancakes, it's still another kind of style
After reorganizing on Saturday, I started wanting to lay the treated wood
The forecast said rain for the next afternoon, so I had to finish everything today
Otherwise, doing things in the rain would be even more inconvenient
Looking at it now, it really is a bit messy
Because I'm planning to rebuild the house in the next couple of years
So I'm not too particular about the materials used
Used some rough wooden sticks as a base
Nailed the boards on, and in the end I was really satisfied
The neighbor was a great help, kept speeding up the progress with LG
Gradually seeing some results
The seller said the treated wood was soaked in chemicals, so it's rot-resistant. I think it probably won't last several decades, but using it for 3-5 years should be no problem.
After the floor was nailed down, we started a barbecue to reward our hardworking laborers
Steak and lamb chops, plus lots of other good stuff
Haha, who knew the handsome neighbor was good at nailing floors and also an expert at barbecue
