How to grow asparagus fern (Asparagus setaceus) to avoid yellow leaves

Asparagus fern is a plant that enhances the style of a home when placed indoors, but it also frequently develops yellow leaves. So how exactly should asparagus fern be cared for?
Watering
For asparagus fern, watering is a key factor in its care. It is not drought-tolerant, but it cannot go without water either. If it lacks water, its leaves will develop dry tips and turn yellow, affecting its growth.
However, it cannot have too much water either, otherwise it is prone to root rot. When watering it, decide on watering based on the weather conditions, the growth of the asparagus fern, and the moisture level of the potting soil. Generally, it is enough for the surface layer of the soil to be slightly dry, with the layer three cm below the surface being slightly moist.
Keep the environment humid
Asparagus fern cannot grow in a dry environment, so when caring for it, frequently spray water on the ground and around the plant to prevent its leaves from turning yellow due to dry air.
Good ventilation
When caring for asparagus fern, be sure to pay attention to indoor ventilation. Do not keep it in a sealed, unventilated environment, and it also has certain requirements for the quality of the surrounding environment. If you smoke, be sure to open the windows, and do not smoke facing the asparagus fern, otherwise its leaves will easily turn yellow.
Avoid direct harsh sunlight
Asparagus fern must not be placed under the blazing sun, nor should it be exposed to direct sunlight. If it is hot summer, place it in a cool, ventilated spot for care. During its flowering period, avoid rain and wind.
Fertilizing
Asparagus fern does not like heavy fertilizer, but it cannot go without fertilizer either. When fertilizing it, be sure not to apply too much at once; apply small amounts multiple times. Applying a thin, well-rotted liquid fertilizer once a month is enough. During its growing season, applying a dilute nitrogen or phosphorus fertilizer once or twice a month is enough.
