"2018 Island Carnival" Penghu Baisha Houliao: Enjoy the Sea Breeze and Fireworks

The Baisha session of the "2018 Island Carnival" kicked off colorfully on the evening of the 30th at the plaza next to the Baisha Houliao Visitor Center. Dazzling fireworks bloomed across the sky like ribbons, sweeping away the gloom of days of rain.

Although a light drizzle was falling in the evening sky, it did not dampen the enthusiasm of the crowd participating in the "2018 Island Carnival." The local specialty cuisine tasting show let food lovers feast to their hearts' content. The evening gala opened lively with the Chikan Community Hot Mom Dance Troupe's dynamic dance moves, and immediately afterward, the world champion variety acrobatics show left the audience dumbfounded. Taiwanese-language singing queen Chen Si'an moved everyone's hearts with her gentle singing.

Penghu County Magistrate Chen Kuangfu arrived at the venue before the fireworks were launched. In his speech, he said that although it had been rainy for days and the weather was poor, in order not to disappoint everyone, the county government held a special meeting that afternoon and decided the evening event would proceed as scheduled. He said that Baisha Township's Jiabao melons and muskmelons are sweet and juicy, and the old-fashioned eight-treasure meatballs are crispy and substantial, and he urged everyone to give more support to local specialty agricultural products. He also warmly welcomed everyone to visit Penghu again in September and October to participate in the Most Beautiful Bay in the World Carnival.
