Leaf characteristics and price introduction of the Chunlan variety Changhua Mei
Chunlan Changhua Mei was discovered in 1991 on a mountain near Changhua Town, Lin'an County, in the western suburbs of Hangzhou, so it was named after the place where it was found. Its petal shape is plum-type, so it is called Changhua Mei. When the Changhua Mei flower opens, it has a flat, level shoulder, and this remains unchanged until it withers. After the flower is fully open, the front ends of the petals curve forward and embrace, making it an extra-large flower.

The characteristics of Changhua Mei are that the petals are emerald green in color, the petals are thick and glutinous in texture, with helmet-style hard silkworm-moth-held petals, appearing as separated heads and joined backs. The large persimmon tongue is held within the hard-held petals, and the red patch in the center of the tongue is stable. There are four bract shells; the front and back two are short, the middle two are long, and one is a clinging shell, green overlaid with purple-red veins that reach the top, with the veins spaced openly. Its flower has great ornamental value.
