How to Grow Anthurium More Vigorously? A Complete Guide to Care Techniques
1. Suitable Light
It loves to grow in places with plenty of light, but it should not be exposed to strong direct sunlight under high temperatures. So when growing it, it is best to place it in a spot with ample diffused light.
2. Moist Potting Soil
It likes moist places, but water must not accumulate in the pot. When watering it normally, keep the potting soil suitably moist; if you want to water it again, you must wait until the soil surface has dried. In addition, you can often spray water mist on its leaves to increase air humidity, which helps it grow better. However, when the temperature is low, water it less, otherwise the roots will rot.
3. Frequent Light Fertilizing
It is very fond of fertilizer, so you need to add a little fertilizer, and once every half month is the most suitable timing. Usually before flowering, we add a little phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, always in the morning or evening. Then in winter, its growth slows down, and the fertilizing interval can be extended to once a month.
4. Slightly Acidic Soil
When growing it, slightly acidic soil is more suitable for its growth. The soil should also be fertile and well-draining, because soil that easily accumulates water is not suitable for its growth. Especially when the soil becomes compacted, repot it with fresh soil in time.
5. Aerial Roots Must Not Be Buried
As it gradually grows, it will produce many aerial roots that stay above the soil surface. These aerial roots allow it to absorb more nutrients, so do not bury them with soil.
