How to grow water lilies? Detailed guide to cultivation methods and precautions
1. Water flow
In a pond, water lilies prefer still water and dislike fast-flowing water, so this is something to pay special attention to when choosing where to place them. Also, they must be placed in a spot with ample light. Without sunlight or with too little sunlight, they will weaken and not bloom. The second method is pot culture, or rather tub culture. We can plant the water lily directly in a water basin or a large tub, or plant it in a small pot and then place that pot into the tub.
2. Soil
For water lilies, the soil used should be river mud or field mud rich in sapropel. When using it, first dry the soil in the sun and break it up. When planting water lilies, put plenty of organic fertilizer in the lower layer as base fertilizer, then replant the water lily.
3. Filling with water
After planting, when filling with water, fill it so that the water just barely covers the soil surface. Do not fill with too much water at once, to prevent the soil from floating up to the water surface. As the water lily's new shoots sprout and the cultivated soil binds together, we can gradually raise the water level so that the water depth reaches about 40 cm, which can meet its growth needs. Generally, the water surface of the cultivation pond should not be higher than 1 m, nor lower than 20 cm, otherwise it will be unfavorable for its flowering and growth.
4. Care
Throughout the entire care process, it is essential to ensure it is kept in a full-light environment, so that the flowers can bloom abundantly.
