Unexpected harvest from potted lotus on the balcony: dug out a bucket of big fellows

Some like growing vegetables on the balcony, some like growing flowers on the balcony; either way, it is a wonderful thing! One gardening enthusiast thought their balcony was fairly spacious and wanted to grow something different, so they found a big water bucket, wanting to grow a large pot of lotus on their balcony to enjoy.
To make the lotus grow better, they added dry grass and corn husks and the like to the bottom of the bucket as base fertilizer, then added water and field mud together to compost, and finally planted the seeds. With good temperatures, it only takes a few days to see tender shoots emerge, and then they slowly grow until they fill the whole bucket.
So many round, glossy green lotus leaves; they look very nice to admire. In summer, you can also see pink lotus flowers blooming, extremely beautiful.
Spring passes and autumn comes; the big bucket of lotus leaves in the corner of the balcony is almost bursting out of the pot, and some leaves have also become withered.
The gardening enthusiast was preparing to clean it out again so as to grow lotus again the next year, but unexpectedly, after tipping the bucket over, they dug out a bucket of "big fellows" - such a big bucket of lotus root, a truly unexpected harvest, a real jackpot!
I have grown eggplant, cilantro, radish, cucumber, and even watermelon on the balcony, but I have never grown "lotus root." Yet unexpectedly, now there are skilled vegetable growers who have grown "lotus root" in balcony pots, and the yield is really abundant; truly admirable!
