These autumn flower care points determine whether your plants live or die - have you paid attention to them all?

As autumn deepens, it is the perfect time for growing flowers. The following care points are crucial, so fellow flower growers, take a quick look and see whether you have noticed them all.
More sunlight
Summer sunlight is harsh, so plants rarely receive adequate light. Once autumn arrives, plants begin to grow, and at this point it is necessary to let them receive sunlight. If the midday sun is still scorching, keep providing shade, and during the rest of the time you can place the plants in a sunny spot.
Control watering
Autumn watering requires care. Apart from plants that bloom in autumn, winter and early spring, which should be watered normally, other plants should be watered less. This is because autumn temperatures drop, plants evaporate more slowly, and their water needs decrease. "Do not water until dry" - too much water will cause leggy branches and leaves. The most suitable time to water is in the afternoon.
Fertilize in moderation
Autumn fertilizing depends on the situation. Some plants have finished their flowering period by autumn, while others enter their vigorous growth period in autumn. For foliage plants, we can apply some nitrogen fertilizer, and for some flowering plants we should apply some phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer.
Repot sensibly
Fellow flower growers who want to repot their plants can take this opportunity to move them into new pots now. When repotting, besides choosing an appropriate size, you also need to observe whether the plant roots have rotted. After repotting, place the plant in a slightly shaded spot to recover, and the first watering should be thorough.
Prune appropriately
In autumn, plants should be pruned appropriately, as this ensures they get through the winter smoothly. When pruning, cut off diseased branches and dead branches, and also trim away the spent branches that have already flowered, to avoid consuming too many nutrients and affecting the blooming of new flower buds.
Pest and disease control
Autumn is a period of high incidence of pests and diseases, and fellow flower growers should not be careless. Besides ensuring the growing environment has good ventilation, you should also provide fertilizer to strengthen the plants' disease resistance. For plants already infected with pests or diseases, spray medicine in time to treat them and prevent further infection.
