As part of the landscape, the lawn is one of the most popular landscape elements among designers and is used very widely in gardens. Once design elements are added, lawns are no longer just a simple carpet of grass; they have life, language, poetry and room for imagination...
As a background, the lawn works very well in both formal and natural layouts, blending beautifully with the other features that make up the overall landscape while also providing contrast and harmony.
The lawn fully brings out its qualities of openness, neatness and uniformity, highlighting the landscape features of the main and companion plants through contrast and harmony, and creating landscapes such as open woodland lawns and dense woodland lawns with rich seasonal variation and flexible change.
In road-surface greening, grass set into stone crevices or stones set into turf create a contrast between the light-coloured stones and the lawn that enhances the visual effect. At this point, the stones can also be joined in different shapes to form various patterns, such as square, herringbone and plum-blossom patterns, designing all kinds of ground landscapes to add a sense of rhythm to the landscape.
A clean lawn and a single tree make a painting.
Doesn't a lawn like this look very romantic?
Lying on the lawn, closing your eyes, letting the fragrance of the green grass fill the air around you... it is absolutely a wonderful thing! Can the vast stretches of green hold all your dreams?
Here, the lawns are already very eye-catching; they want to be eye-catching, they want you to notice them.
With the earth as a background, a handprint pressed into the lawn makes the empty lawn interesting.
Looking at these shapes, doesn't it feel as if aliens have been here?
Guess what this grass package is?
Guess again?
That's right! This armchair and the lawn fit together with no sense of incongruity at all, just like a small hill growing straight out of the lawn. This is the work of a studio. Its growth process is also very interesting: cardboard was used to build the overall frame structure of the armchair, it was filled with soil, and finally seeds were scattered over it, then it was left to wait for the grass to grow. When it is fully formed, lying on it to soak up the sun is not only enjoyable, it is simply a source of pride.
And this big mushroom - may I ask: can you shelter from the rain underneath it?
3D ground graffiti and spray paintings, rich and vivid in content with realistic effects, once sparked quite a street-art craze. French artists took this a step further, using performance art to creatively design this patch of green space with a magical visual effect. Seen from a distance, this green "earth" is not only covered in green grass but also dotted with green trees, with a strong three-dimensional feel.
In fact, this is a three-dimensional site with a span of 100 m, using a total of 1200 sq m of turf and 650 cubic metres of sand and soil, and it took 90 workers 5 days to complete. This 3D creative lawn and green space, with its astonishing visual effect, not only makes people linger but also adds a charming touch of colour to Paris, the city of art.
The Biesbosch Museum in the Netherlands. The old and new parts of the museum are surrounded by earthworks covered with lawn and herbaceous plants.
The design aims to increase ecological value; the volume stands here like a sculpture, seen as land art, standing out from the landscape. The folded areas on the roof form mountain paths and lookout points.
If a park's lawn is planted like this, will visitors still feel bored?
A landscape with such exquisite shaping always makes people excited!
In fact, a good lawn landscape can create a "breathable" space and make people feel at ease.
Perhaps your yard does not need too many plants; with opening and closing, and a balance of tension and relaxation, you will have a better sense of space.
