Don't throw it away after it sprouts - bury it in soil and in 2 months it grows into a small potted plant

People who often grow flowers all have this habit: whenever they see any plant or vegetable that can grow, they want to pot it themselves. In the past, all kinds of flowers, fruit trees and vegetables had to be grown in the ground. Nowadays, there really is nothing that cannot be "potted". Take the kitchen in daily life, for example - often some vegetables sprout before you can finish eating them. Faced with sprouted vegetables, throwing them away feels wasteful, but if you don't throw them away, you can't eat them. At times like this, burying them in soil and growing them as potted plants is actually a good idea. Not only is it a lot of fun, it might even bring plenty of surprises.
Potted ginger
Ginger is an essential seasoning for cooking at home. Actually, this thing is quite awkward - you must add it every time you cook, but you don't use much. If you happen not to eat at home a few times, the ginger will sprout, and over time more and more sprouts grow. At this point, don't throw away this good thing. Find a flower pot, put in the nutrient soil you normally use for flowers, or just use ordinary soil. Put the sprouted ginger in the soil, with the sprouted side facing up rather than buried. After that, water it thoroughly once, and within two or three days small shoots will appear. At the fastest, in just about a month, it will grow a mass of green stems and leaves. From a distance it can rival lucky bamboo!
Potted potato
Everyone knows that once a potato sprouts, it absolutely must not be eaten, because it's toxic! So many people have no choice but to throw it away. But for those of us who enjoy the pleasures of life and love growing flowers, this good thing must not be discarded. Growing it in a flower pot and turning it into a potato potted plant is even better. Not only does it add fun, it might even produce small potatoes. Potted potatoes can be grown in water, though soil culture is of course best. Just use ordinary flower soil, then keep the potting soil moist. Generally within a week you'll see green sprouts emerge. Keep it in diffused light, and within 2 months it will grow into a tall potato plant.
Potted sweet potato
Look at the picture above - grown as a potted plant, this sweet potato can absolutely be kept as a foliage plant, and its emerald-green leaves have no small ornamental value. And doesn't it feel full of fun? If you grow several potted sweet potatoes at once, once there are plenty of leaves you can even pick them to eat - sweet potato leaves have excellent health benefits! In this current solar term, if sweet potatoes are kept indoors, they sprout very easily. A while ago I picked out some sweet potatoes, and within a week they had sprouted. So I simply potted them too. Now they've grown quite a few green leaves. Very natural and fresh.
Besides the 3 kinds of sprouted vegetables above that can be potted, the following common kitchen items can also be potted!
Potted garlic
Every year when new garlic comes in, my family always buys a whole basket at once, then lines them up on the balcony to dry. Because we grow so many flowers at home, sometimes individual flowers need repotting, so some flower pots are left idle. At times like this, how could that stump someone like me who loves growing a few plants and flowers? So garlic is a potted plant very much worth growing. First soak the garlic in water - generally within a week tender green shoots will grow - then on a suitable morning just transplant it directly into a flower pot. Put the potted garlic on the balcony, and I'd say it's quite a sight too!
Potted carrot top
Carrots are a common vegetable at home. Every time people cut them, many just throw the carrot top straight into the trash. Actually, the carrot top is the best potted plant. Just take the cut-off carrot top, find a plate, fill it with a little water and then leave it alone. Put it in a cool, ventilated spot - no need to add nutrient solution like when growing flowers; leaving it be is the best choice. Don't worry, in three to five days you'll see a surprise! It actually sprouts, growing taller and taller! Normally, within a month it will grow into a potted plant like the picture above. Isn't it amazing? In life there really are plenty of pleasures, but we need to discover them bit by bit!
