Legend has it that the epiphyllum was originally a flower goddess. She bloomed every day, radiant through all four seasons. She also fell in love with the young man who watered and weeded her every day. Later, the Jade Emperor learned of this and flew into a rage, determined to tear the lovers apart. The Jade Emperor seized the flower goddess and banished her to become an epiphyllum that could bloom only for an instant each year, forbidding her to ever meet her beloved again. He also sent the young man to Lingjiu Mountain to become a monk, bestowing on him the name Weituo, and made him forget his past and forget the flower goddess.

Whether love lasts a lifetime or just a moment,

what matters is whether it is true love,

To have it for a lifetime is of course wonderful,
