Hello everyone, welcome to today's article. Today the editor continues to share flower-growing tips with you. Some flower lovers keep asking, why do gardenias get yellow leaves? In fact, yellow leaves on gardenias can be divided into many situations. Today we will talk about them specifically.

The first is normal yellow leaves. The gardenia is clearly growing, but occasionally there are some yellow leaves at the bottom. This is normal metabolism, and you do not need to do anything about it. The second is lack of water. Gardenias love water very much. During their growing period we should keep the potting soil slightly moist. If there is a lack of water, the leaves will easily droop. If this happens many times, the fine roots will be damaged, and after watering the growth will return to normal. The gardenias we newly buy usually come with flower buds, so absolutely do not repot them, as this will damage the root system.

Flowering requires a large amount of nutrients. If the root system is damaged, it will not be able to absorb sufficient nutrients, so we should wait until after the flowers bloom to repot. The soil used for spraying is usually very hard yellow clay soil, and watering does not easily soak through. At this time we can use the new pot watering method: place it in a tray with water, and each time you water, soak it for half an hour. In this way, yellow leaves caused by lack of water will not appear.

The third is lack of light. Gardenias need full sun, so we must only place them in the spot with the best light. If they are kept indoors for a long time, a lack of light will occur, they will be dull and lustreless, the colour will also be on the yellow side, and they will be malnourished, so we need to increase the light.

The fourth is poor ventilation and too much watering. If the air circulation indoors is poor, transpiration after watering will be low, the root system will often be soaked in moist soil, the roots will rot, and after a long time yellow leaves will also appear. So we should keep them in the place with the best ventilation and light, and we can place them beside a window.
