Succulents hung on the balcony grew into a waterfall in half a year, and the neighbors joked that they could even skip buying curtains

My father-in-law loves growing succulents at home, because my mother-in-law thinks succulents are chubby and very cute. When we visited them during Chinese New Year this year, my father-in-law hung the succulents bought from the flower market on the balcony. Who would have thought that in just half a year without seeing these "little guys," they had actually transformed into a green "waterfall"! When the neighbors saw it, they all teased my father-in-law, saying the shade at home was really good, and he could even save the money for buying curtains.

I always thought succulents were the kind of plants that do not grow very large, and might not grow quickly even after 1 year of care. Who would have thought that the succulents my father-in-law brought back could grow so wildly. From a distance, it really looked like a row of green curtains had been installed at home. When the sunlight is strong, light comes through, but it is not hot at all.

I asked my father-in-law what kind of "love potion" he had fed the succulents. Why could they grow so densely and beautifully? Hearing this, my father-in-law laughed at me for being ignorant. Not all succulents are small; some varieties can naturally become a waterfall once they are grown vigorously.

However, my father-in-law also said that if you want succulents to fill the pot, you need to change the soil and repot them after buying them. The potting soil from the flower market cannot keep up with succulents growing like this, and you need to clean off all the original soil. After repotting, do not rush to hang them up. Let them air first, and once they have adapted to the new soil, hang them up to get sunlight.

Succulents such as String of Pearls, Burro's Tail, String of Hearts, and Graptopetalum paraguayense are all suitable for hanging cultivation. If you like green "curtains," you can also grow Othonna capensis, guaranteeing that your "curtain" will be one of a kind! However, the growth habits of these succulents are not completely the same. Some do not like much water, or have a certain dormant period, so before planting, investigate clearly before caring for them, otherwise they are prone to root rot, and the leaves will also become sparse and loose.
