Growing vegetables on the balcony is green and safe, and you can eat them with peace of mind. Tomatoes are both tasty and highly ornamental, so they are undoubtedly a great choice for balcony growing. It is actually not hard to grow tomatoes well on a balcony. When planting, add a little "something" to the soil, and your tomato stems will surely be firm and upright, with so much fruit you cannot finish eating it all!

Aspirin

This tablet is, I believe, kept on hand in many households. It can boost tomatoes' disease resistance and has a good preventive and controlling effect on fusarium wilt.

The method is also very simple: dissolve a few aspirin tablets in water and pour it over the plants. The plants will absorb these substances through the soil, thereby promoting tomato growth and increasing yield.

Eggshells

Eggshells are rich in calcium, which makes the plants more robust, effectively prevents tomatoes from getting black rot, and improves disease resistance. Just wash the eggshells, crush them, and toss them into the soil.

Epsom salt

Some people may not have heard of Epsom salt. It is sold in pharmacies and is not expensive. It is what we call magnesium sulfate. It is rich in magnesium, so it promotes tomato growth.

We can put some Epsom salt in the soil, but we must cover it with another layer of soil, and never let the tomato roots come into direct contact with the Epsom salt.

Baking soda

Baking soda can be called an all-purpose thing in daily life. When tomatoes are setting fruit, sprinkle a ring of baking soda around the soil, or mix it with water and pour it on, and it will adjust the tomatoes' flavor, making them sweeter.

Fellow gardeners growing tomatoes on balconies can try the methods above, so you no longer need to worry about them getting diseased, and the fruit they produce will be sweet and large, with more than you can finish eating!
