Nowadays foliage plants have become a popular choice for many households, because they are not only relatively easy to care for, but also, placed in the home, their lush green makes a beautiful sight, but sometimes problems with watering and fertilizing can lead to yellow leaves or root rot. A few days ago, Huahua's friend recommended a little trick to Huahua, and would you believe it, it really works quite well!

The material used for this little trick is also very easy to get: the "waste oil" that gets cleaned off our kitchen range hood each time. Some plant lovers may be surprised - can this waste oil really be used to grow plants?! Huahua has proven through personal practice that it really is very effective.

Everyone knows that because waste oil is the grease absorbed from cooking, its nutrient content is relatively high, and these nutrients happen to be exactly what plants need - aren't nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other elements essential nutrients for growing plants? So waste oil can absolutely be used as flower fertilizer; not only does it do no harm, it can also help plants grow better and more vigorously!

The first step is to take the waste oil out of the range hood. Once taken out, do not mix in any peanut oil, rapeseed oil or the like - just use the waste oil on its own. Because waste oil is sticky and gooey, do not pour it directly onto the surface of the plant. Instead, we should first poke a few small holes in the soil of the flower pot and keep them ready for use.

Once the holes are poked, you can start pouring in the oil. Gently pour the waste oil along the edge of the pot into the small holes, then cover the holes back up with soil, and that is it. The components in the waste oil will slowly ferment and transform in the soil, and finally be provided to the plant as nutrients for growth. However, note that the amount of waste oil used at one time should be about two-thirds of the oil cup, and it can be used once every two months; that way the green plants in your home will grow big and shiny.

Actually, sometimes the little secrets of growing plants come from everyday life. Besides the waste oil from the range hood, the rice-washing water in your home is also a good thing for watering plants. The first thing to do is ferment the rice-washing water, because if it is not fermented, the rice-washing water poured in directly may burn the roots, causing the opposite of the desired effect.

Everyone knows that watering plants with beer is a good method. In fact, adding a little vinegar to the beer can greatly improve the situation when a clivia does not bloom or gets stuck arrows, because the hops contained in beer and the acidic elements contained in vinegar are both beneficial to flower growth. But remember, beer also has to be diluted before use!

No matter which of the above methods you use, Huahua believes it will have a good effect on the green plants in your home. Perhaps there are still many little tips for growing plants in life waiting for everyone to discover, so go and look for them quickly.
