Do not lament decline, New Taipei strongly supports textile industry development

According to media reports, New Taipei's textile industry has declined rapidly in recent years. The Economic Development Department of New Taipei City stated that, according to an investigation, the total production value of textile-related industries in New Taipei City for the full year of 105 reached more than 78.889 billion yuan, an increase of 2.4% compared with 100, with no decline, still showing a growth trend. This is hereby clarified!

In order to help New Taipei City's textile industry continue to flourish and face international challenges, the New Taipei City Government has long actively promoted the following guidance measures: 1. Encourage R&D and innovation: using local innovation R&D programs, from 99-106 a total of 16 manufacturers were subsidized, with subsidy amounts reaching 12.88 million yuan, among which Wufuyang Knitting even successfully transformed into a tourism factory. Promote industry-academia cooperation and actively match New Taipei textile businesses with design department students at domestic colleges and universities to create innovative designs for functional fashion products. A total of 20 businesses were matched, driving New Taipei City's apparel design energy and improving professional talent.

2. Expand international markets: since 103, international procurement meetings have been held to help New Taipei textile businesses expand exports. By 106, international matching business opportunities exceeded 2.7 billion yuan. In 107, they are about to be held at the end of this month, with estimated procurement opportunities of up to USD 15 million.

3. Single-window dedicated service: since 101, the "New Taipei City Investment Promotion Committee" mechanism has been launched to actively help enterprises remove possible investment obstacles related to land, talent, capital, technology, administrative efficiency and so on.

New Taipei's textile industry has already transformed into a high-tech industry, giving play to the advantages of global supply chains and vertical integration, and developing various trend-oriented products, moving toward high-tech and high-value-added development. Among them are many successfully transformed businesses, including Xukuan Enterprise, which moved from being a regional OEM manufacturer into the fields of garments and dyeing and finishing, mainly making OEM products for international brands such as adidas, Reebok, H&M and ZARA. The city government will still actively work to provide guidance and accelerate the development of New Taipei's textile industry.
