In the past couple of years, one saying has become especially popular: "These days, if you don't have a bit of mental illness, you don't dare go out~" In fact, this is not a real mental illness. Rather, we live under relatively high-pressure environmental factors, and every now and then we get troubled by life's trivial matters, which leads to a slight inner imbalance.

Depression is different. People with depression have all kinds of chain reactions, and in severe cases it can very likely threaten our physical health and even our personal safety.

Polish artist Dawid Planeta is himself a person with depression. He can no longer put his world into words, but luckily he still has his paintbrush, which lets him express his feelings in a more direct way.

As can be seen in the images, every painting he makes is dim and in cold tones. In the paintings there are powerful demons that look so evil and terrifying~ while the self in the paintings is indeed so tiny.

Although depression is an illness that is very hard to come out of on your own, Dawid Planeta has never given up on getting out of it, even though he appears so insignificant amid the illness.

Nowadays many people show great ignorance about the concept of "depression," always feeling that there is no such thing as depression and that it is just moaning about nothing. People who think this way are badly mistaken. Depression is far from being as simple as you think, something that can be easily solved~

Most people, when faced with someone who has depression, will simply say: "Life is always full of disappointments. You might as well try to look at things more openly, just live happily and joyfully every day, and not think about too many things!"

If depression were something that could be solved with one simple sentence, it would not be listed as a disease that is so hard to overcome.

So please treat every person with depression around you with kindness. They also hope they can defeat the demons, walk out of the dim world, and regain the light.

These spectacular yet frightening paintings show all the fear inside a person with depression. I hope everyone in this world can be treated with kindness~
