Kalanchoe needs pruning in late August so the flowers grow vigorously and burst into a big flower ball

"Each autumn rain brings a touch of cool," the feeling of autumn grows stronger, the climate is slowly turning cooler, and flowers and plants are gradually waking up from their summer rest, beginning a new round of explosive growth.
Friends who have kalanchoe at home should pay attention, hurry and take advantage of the current time to give the kalanchoe at home a trim, so the flowers can be more "energetic" and the new round of blooming can be more vigorous.
If you want kalanchoe to bloom in clusters and burst into a big flower ball, you must pinch off the tops and remove the growing tips. Because plants grow upward, and the side buds do not absorb enough nutrients, it is difficult for them to bloom abundantly.
It is now late August, exactly the good time to prune the flowering branches and pinch off the tops. We need to deal with the branches and leaves at the top of the kalanchoe.
When pinching off the tops, choose the position where the side branches differentiate. When pruning, just keep the bottom two layers of leaves on the main branch. If you are not "ruthless" and choose too high a position for pinching, this kind of pruning will not have much effect.
Only by pruning away the excess branches and leaves can you provide more nutrients and growing space for the side branches, so the flowers will not be sparse on every branch tip.
The process is not over yet. After the new side branches have grown several pairs of leaves, we need to pinch off their growing tips, keeping two pairs of new leaves and pinching off all the rest.
This is done to encourage the plant's side branches to differentiate into two rounds of shoots, so more flowers can bloom and the overall plant shape can be fuller and rounder. This is also the key reason why we always see other people's kalanchoe with a round, full flower shape.
After pruning the plant, to encourage its growth, you need to replenish nutrients in time and apply some nitrogen fertilizer, which can speed up growth. After the kalanchoe grows flower buds, we need to apply some phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to speed up the kalanchoe's blooming time and make the flowers more vivid and lush.
Friends who have kalanchoe at home, take advantage of the current time and get to work. If you are a gardening friend in the south and the local temperature is still staying high, we can wait a little longer and start in early September.
